A district court in China’s Guangdong Province has ruled that Ether as legal property with economic value, protected by Chinese law.
A Chinese news source claims that this means citizens of the country are not prohibited from owning or transferring Ether.
The court case involved the theft of cryptocurrency by a blockchain engineer, who was unhappy with the termination of his employment.
BitMEX is restricting access to Japanese users beginning in May, due to new amendments to Japanese laws.
No user registrations will be accepted as of April 30, and existing users with Japanese IP addresses will be banned as of May 1
HTC’s new blockchain mobile phone made headlines recently for its ability to mine cryptocurrency, however it appears that it may not be all that effective.
According to reports from Midas Labs, the phone will only be capable of mining a fraction of a cent’s worth of Monero per day, equating to little more than a dollar per year.
