A surge in cryptocurrency prices led by Bitcoin has caused an overnight jump of $35 billion to the total cryptocurrency market cap.
Bitcoin itself rose almost 19%, its highest value since March, before a crash to $4,000. Analysts suggest that the two main factors contributing to the rise are the upcoming Bitcoin halving, as well as central bank monetary policy.
A letter from Telegram to its investors has shown that the company has delayed the launch of its blockchain again, now until April 30, 2021.
Due to the delay, they have also offered investors a 72% refund on their original investments. Interestingly, they have also added a second option of a 110% refund of their original investment by April 2021, via a loan option.
