👉 Coinbase Acquires Potential Prime Broker Tagomi

Coinbase is on the verge of completing one of its largest acquisitions to date by purchasing Tagomi, a firm aiming to be a cryptocurrency prime broker.

The company is claimed to be worth between $70 million to $100 million, with the deal waiting upon regulatory approval before it is finalized.

Tagomi was launched in 2018 and is known for its “best-execution” crypto trading services, enabling investors to receive the best possible prices available across the entire crypto market.

👉 Facebook Wallet “Calibra” Rebrands to “Novi”

Facebook has unveiled a rebranding of  its Libra wallet “Calibra” today, to the name of “Novi”. The move appears to be in an effort to distance Facebook from the Libra Association as two separate organizations.

Calibra (now Novi) is a Facebook subsidiary which is building wallets compatible with the Libra cryptocurrency, whereas the Libra Association is a group of which Facebook is just one member.

👉 Polkadot Mainnet Goes Live, Launches First Chain Candidate

The Polkadot mainnet has gone live, following the launch of its first chain candidate and mining of its genesis block. The network intends to start out under a proof-of-authority consensus mechanism, before shifting into proof-of-stake (PoS).

Polkadot is an interoperability project, which is designed to enable cross-chain transfers of any type of data or asset and prevent single-chain maximalism.
