A US federal bank regulator – the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) – has requested public input from financial institutions regarding cryptocurrency.
The request was made in a pair of notices published yesterday, which asked financial institutions about current and possible future crypto-related activities involving them, as well as what needs to be addressed via regulation.
Digital asset fund giant Grayscale reportedly purchased more than 9,500 BTC last week, a greater quantity than all of the 6,863 BTC mined over the same period.
The fund has turned some heads with its continual Bitcoin purchasing, which has peaked after last month’s halving. Some believe the increased volume indicates a change of sentiment from institutions regarding cryptocurrency.
Splinterlands, the most popular decentralized application on the Steem blockchain, has decided to make the jump to Hive, the recently-forked version of Steem.
The Hive fork was created to escape the influence of Tron founder Justin Sun, who attempted a takeover of the Steem network following his acquisition of a large stake in the blockchain.
Splinterlands is a cryptocurrency-based trading card game, which has recorded several thousands of daily active users over the last month.
