Serving as a human services organization working for the upliftment of Chicago’s immigrant families, Erie Neighborhood House has announced that its annual poker fund pooling tournament will run in a virtual mode. The event is scheduled for launch on September 19, at 4:00 p.m. for the poker players. The news was circulated via an official blog post by Erie Neighborhood House members.
According to the post, the Erie House agency has informed the interested players that they can start buying discounted tickets for the tournament. Kate Diveley, the official spokesperson for the agency, stated that the tickets for the poker event could be purchased at a low cost of $50 from the ongoing sale where after the cost will surge to $100 from September 1 for the players. The winners of the tournament will be showered upon with whopping cash prizes based on their rankings-
- First prize- $1,000
- Second prize- $500
- Third prize- $250
The agency has stated that those interested in sponsoring the event can email Lucero Cervantes at email@example.com address. Other details will be given by team members.
The funds collected from the poker event will aid the Erie Neighborhood House organization in achieving its social objectives. The team will employ the funds to support college scholarships for the Erie House community clients, which primarily comprise of Latino immigrants along with families belonging to other backgrounds. By offering access to education, crucial services, and advocacy to immigrant societies, Erie House aspires to create an inclusive ecosystem that fits and caters to one and all in an equal way.
Erie Neighborhood House shines as the oldest operating settlement agency in Chicago. In 2019, the social organization celebrated its 150th year of establishment. The team has been religiously working for people of all backgrounds and sections through a major part of its client circle includes documented and undocumented Latino immigrants. Apart from the original office, the agency has locations in Little Village and Humboldt Park too.
