The New York Attorney General’s office (NYAG) has submitted a court request to force Tether to hand over documents relating to their $850 loan to Bitfinex in 2018.
The new order would enforce a strict 60-day deadline for Tether and Bitfinex to submit the relevant documents, which were originally requested in April 2019.
The NYAG case led to the revelation that at during at least one period of time, Tether’s stablecoin reserves only backed 74% of its issued USDT tokens.
Popular international cryptocurrency exchange CEX.io has announced that they will be launched a crypto-backed lending service this month, in 217 countries and territories.
Customers will be able to borrow up to $500,000 in fiat currency against their cryptocurrency holdings, without credit checks.
Current loans allow funds to be borrowed against BTC and ETH, with a 50% loan-to-value ratio.
Major online food delivery company Just Eat has announced that it is now accepting Bitcoin as payment for customers in France.
The company delivers food for 15,000 restaurants within France, and has more than 26 million users around the globe.
