More specifically, Gensler will be leading the agency review team for banking and securities regulators.
Gensler has closely studied the cryptocurrency field and testified before Congress multiple times on the topics of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
Popular cryptocurrency exchange, FTX, has listed tokenized stock futures contracts, with leverage up to 100x.
The new trading tools are quarterly contracts, which will trade 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The contracts’ index prices will track the price of FTX spot markets of the same assets.
FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried believes that not even Ethereum 2.0 will be capable of handling the potential growth of decentralized finance (DeFi).
According to Bankman-Fried in a recent interview, Ethereum is limiting the growth of the DeFi sector, and the only short-term solution is to begin building on other networks.
