The coin is up over 275% for the year, including a 14% over just 48 hours. Institutional investors appear to be driving the advance, as a number of major companies disclose considerable Bitcoin purchases.
Cryptocurrency market-making firm B2C2 has halted XRP trading for all counterparties based in the United States, in wake of the SEC lawsuit against Ripple.
B2C2 follow in the footsteps of Galaxy Digital and Jump Trading with the move, despite its parent company SBI Holdings having made a $200 million Series C investment in Ripple.
Dynamic Set Dollar, an algorithmic stablecoin designed to track the US dollar, has fallen to as low as $0.27 over the weekend.
The price drop will provide on of many tests for the currency, as it attempts to incentivize users to reduce the supply via token redemptions for “coupons” which provide potential for future profits.
