Cryptocurrency custody company BitGo has launched “wrapped” Bitcoin and Ether tokens on the TRON blockchain. Nearly 100 TRON-based WBTC tokens have been minted already, by Alameda Research and CoinList.
BitGo is already well-known for its Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) token on the Ethereum blockchain, which enables Bitcoin to be used in decentralized application as an ERC-20 token.
Grayscale’s Ethereum Trust has seen its ETHE shares fall in value by 50% over the last two weeks, despite a monster rally of its underlying asset, Ethereum (ETH).
The crash has been attributed to an arbitrage strategy, due to ETHE shares trading at a large premium to the actual price of the underlying ETH.
A UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) ban on cryptocurrency derivatives trading products will go into effect today, as the authority believes it will save users £53 million in harm.
The ban was announced in October of last year, drawing strong criticism from the wider cryptocurrency community.
