Reddit, one of the most popular forums in the world, has partnered with the Ethereum Foundation in an effort to accelerate the development of scaling technology on the network.
The technology developed via the partnership is planned to be open-sourced and publicly available, for anyone who wishes to build upon it.
Reddit has already been trying out Ethereum tokens for a pair of its subreddits, including r/Cryptocurrency.
The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has found that 60% of central banks are currently conducting digital currency experiments, according to research published yesterday.
Despite plenty of interest in central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), many of the banks have downgraded their degree of “likeliness” to issue a CBDC in the near-term. 65 central banks from around the world were surveyed in the research effort.
Redditors who had previously participated in the Gamestop short-squeeze have set their sights on Dogecoin, already sending the coin up 80% on the day.
The move was sparked by a Tweet from an account associated with r/Wallstreetbets, which simply posed the question: “Has DOGE ever been to a dollar?”.
Hashtags relating to the coin have begun trending, with Dogecoin volume soaring 800% from yesterday’s levels.
