Payments giant PayPal has begun to allow US users to pay millions of merchants in cryptocurrency, with no transaction fees.
It is worth clarifying that the merchants themselves do not actually receive cryptocurrency as payment – instead, the crypto is converted to fiat currency at the moment of purchase.
The feature is planned to be rolled out to non-US users in the coming months, with access to 29 million global merchants.
Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant and others have participated in Dapper Labs’ latest round of funding, which totaled $305 million.
Dapper Labs has stated that the platform intends to add further digital collectibles through Warner Media Group, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and more.
