Payments giant Visa has reported that it has handled more than $1 billion in cryptocurrency so far in 2021, according to an update published by the company.
Visa has partnered with more than 50 different crypto platforms that have issued Visa-powered debit cards, which can be used at any Vida-friendly merchant globally.
The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) has stated that they are concerned over stablecoins and their potential risk to global financial systems.
Fan Yifei, deputy governor at the PBoC, recognized that the speed of development in private payment systems is worrying and that the PBoC is working against monopolies.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its decision on SkyBridge Capital’s Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) application, until late August.
To date, the SEC has been very reluctant to approve crypto ETFs, which would significantly increase access to the cryptocurrencies for retail investors.
