Richard Sanders, a lead investigator at blockchain investigation agency CipherBlade, has alleged that cryptocurrency exchange HitBTC is a fraudulent entity, and most likely insolvent.

HitBTC already has a bad track record, with a recent report from Bitwise claiming that the majority of trading volume on the exchange is fake.

    There’s lack of sustance on those claims, he called them fraudulent and gave some convoluted info and called it a report. Fake volume – good luck getting rid of false reports in crypto

    While I am not versed enough to argue about the volume issue (which I think plagues all exchanges to some extent), I do wonder where the insolvency claim comes from, as it seems they’re only looking at hot wallets and drawing conclusions from there.
