👉 Gemini Exchange Expands to UK Following EMI Licensing

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has announced that it is launching in the UK, after receiving an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license in August.

Individual and institutional investors will now be able to buy, trade, sell and store cryptocurrency with Gemini using the British Pound.

Accounts will be able to be funded via wire transfers, CHAPS and Faster Payments.

Details of the Federal Reserve Bank’s research on digital currencies have been shared this week, highlighting that it has been building and testing a variety of ledger platforms.

They have, however, claimed that the research efforts do not necessarily demonstrate any intention of the Federal Reserve to adopt a digital currency.

👉 Coinbase Hires Venmo and Adobe Execs for New Platforms Team

Coinbase has hired former Venmo executive Shilpa Dhar and former Adobe executive Ravi Byakod, who will lead the exchange’s new “Platforms” team.

The Platforms team appears to be aimed at scaling up the Coinbase Commerce platform, which helps merchants accept payments made in cryptocurrencies.
